AIFF is a lossless audio format co-developed by Apple. AIFF files offer sound quality comparable to Audio CD. The format offers 44,1 kHz sample rate and bit depth of 16 bits (2-channel stereo).
AIFF files (AIF is the most commonly used extensions for this type of files) are typically used on Mac computers, but most platforms support this format. The first version of AIFF format was released more than thirty years ago.
