File with an .AVASTLIC extension contains license data – information on subscription, authorisation, user data, product name, expiry date for avast! program in the commercial version. If bought online, the license file (Linense.Avastlic.) is usually send via email. Instead of a license, also a license key may be sent.

License installation can be performed also by opening the file on a PC with installed software or by choosing the subscription option – insert a license file into Avast! menu or during antivirus software installation. If software has a license, information about it can be found in the menu of the Avast! program.
