CXP file extension is used by application files created by CX-Programmer software. The tool is used for programming ORMON controllers used in industrial process automation. CXP file is a compressed controlled project file for a give PLC (programmable logic controller).

Project files are by default saved as CXT files (no compression). CX-Programmer is no longer available as a stand-alone application – it is now distributed as a part of CX-ONE suite.
