DIP is a seldom encountered file extension used for bitmap image files. DIP are by default distributed as BMP bitmap files, which are supported on Microsoft Windows and other operating systems.
DIP file structure is nearly identical to the original format on which it is based on. DIP files used no form of compression and thus are larger then more popular JPG or PNG image formats. Most image viewers support DIP image files, including the free XnView.
