Chrome Partial Download Format | |

Files with the .DOWNLOAD extension contain data partially downloaded from the Internet via the Apple Safari or Mozilla Firefox web browsers, as well as some apps for P2P - Peer-to-peer - file downloading. These may be files of various types whose DOWNLOAD is in progress or has been interrupted before the DOWNLOAD was finished. Browsers add the DOWNLOAD extension to the original file name, and after downloading and possibly verifying the file, the extension is removed and the file can normally be opened.
The files are usually located in the browser's Downloads directory. If the DOWNLOAD has been interrupted, sometimes the downloads can still be played back, at least partially – this is especially true in the case of movie and music files. Just remove the .DOWNLOAD extension and try to run the file in the appropriate program. If this is not possible, DOWNLOAD the file again. DOWNLOAD files are similar to CRDOWNLOAD files specific to the Google Chrome web browser.
