ECF file format is used for storing Microsoft Outlook software extension file, which can be used to add custom features to the program. User can access information regarding the added functionality by reading ECF file with a text editor. Each extension may require other extension to function properly.

Each ECF file can be installed by using appropriate option from the Add-in manager menu available via ‘Advanced options’ menu. Manager offers option to enable/disable selected extensions.
