EDAT is a purpose-developed file format used by older versions of E-Prime.software package. EDAT files can be opened with E-DataAid 1 application. EDAT files contain data organized in rows and columns, similar to standard spreadsheet format.

The software that uses EDAT files may be used to conduct and design psychology tests using various peripheral devices. EDAT files are thus typically used in clinical psychology and behavioral studies. First edition of E-Prime package is no longer distributed.
