EL8 files store CD/DVD cover projects or labels. EL8 files were and integral part of software package shipped with Canon ink printers. One of the most popular devices of this type and make was Pixma MP550, which combined as color printer, a copier, and a scanner in a single package.

In order to access EL8 files Easy-PhotoPrint EX program must be installed on the computer. The program was installed by default along with device drivers. The tool may not be compatible with latest Windows versions.
