FTF is a binary file format supported by Sony Xperia smartphones. FTF are typically distributed by Sony, but custom third-party FTF compilations are also available. FTF files contain system updates for smartphones and tablets.

FTF files can be used to install newer versions of Android on a device. The process requires custom drivers for Windows or MacOS to be downloaded using Xperia Companion application. FTF files can be created with FlashTool or XperiFirm tools.
