HDS is a DRM and copyright storage file format. HDS is supportd by Windows and Mac OS. HDS files were mostly used along with now discontinued plugin Microsoft Silverlight.

HDS files are managed by tool called Microsoft PlayReady. HDS files are commonly used by Netflix. In case of problems with HDS files not allowing access to multimedia, it is adviced that user delete the certificate file and let the application restore it to the proper version automatically upon launch.
