HP files are used by some models of Hewlett-Packard printers and plotters. HP files store data written in HPGL printer control language (also known as HP-GL or HP/GL).

HP files can be used for printing using a plotter or a printer. Nowadays the HP format is largely obsolete and none of the latest Hewlett-Packard support this format, but some older machines still use this format.
