JPGENX is a raster image format based on JPG standard with additional encryption solution created by HiTRUST. JPGENX files were popular in Acer laptops due to the presence of preinstalled application eDataSecurity, which supports Egis technology.

JPGENX format is no longer developed and maintained, and Egis in now a discontinued project. Windows 7 was the last version of the operating system that supported this format. JPGENX is now considered a legacy format and creating images using this format is discouraged.
