LRC is a file extension used for displaying song lyrics during audio playback. LRC file also stores timing information indicating when each text fragment should be displayed – such data is referred to as ‘time tags’ and is used for synchronizing text with audio or video file.

LRC files are supported by most popular media players. Many variations of LRC format exist, from files that simply display text to more advanced files that highlight syllables, display a moving pointer, add color to fonts, etc.
