MAC is a file extension used in Apple operating systems. MAC files are created in MacPaint (the Windows equivalent of Paint) and store raster graphics images. MacPaint is a tool that was present in the older operating system installed on Macintosh computers. It allowed the creation of black and white images with a maximum resolution of 720 x 576 pixels.

Currently, the MAC graphic format is rare and considered obsolete.
