MF4 is an extension given to files by an electronic control unit calibration tool called CANape. MF4 is a file that is used to store measurement data. This is the format that is most often used in the automotive industry. Data from MF4 files are used to create, process, store and exchange measurement data. In addition, the file contains metadata that describes the individual data.

The MF4 file format is based on the ASAM MDF 4.0 standard.
