MOD format is used by Amiga computers and is smiliar to MIDI format. Varoius sound tracker software available on Commodore Amiga used this format. MOD format is supported by many modern operating systems, maninly to to the popularity it gained in the 1990s.

Besides notes, MOD file can contain audio samples with different instrument tracks and channels. The file’s audio tracks can be played using dedicated software tools.
