File with a .NST extension contains at least one audio track with notes’ models and sound samples. It is a stored module of a free program – NoiseTracker – created in the year 1989, which is currently no longer in use. Currently, in order to read a file, the Nullsoft Winamp for Windows or other software must be used.
NoiseTracker worked mainly on the NST files , which stored a music module that enabled playing the sound samples according to the information written within it. Program was used in production of sound, for instance, for the Amiga Commodore games in the 1980s and 1990s.
