File with .OVR extension contains information about map annotations such as location and references to map files and other resources added on the map. This format is used exclusively by Overlay Maker software.

OVR files are used in process of creating map overlays. They support vector and raster graphics, custom drawings, text and icons. OVP package file format is used for storage of OVR files along with necessary resources to create the map overlay.
