PBF is an extension given to files that store 8 or 16 bit audio data. They are associated with WAV files, which must always be placed in the same location as the PBF files. Additional elements are also defined in the PBF file, such as loops, filters, drum kits, lfos (a solution that allows modulation of pitch, intensity and timbre).
PBF files are files known as bank files. This solution was developed and used by devices from Turtle Beach Corporation, which at that time produced very efficient sound cards, MIDI synthesizers and many audio software packages. PBF is now a rare and obsolete format.
