PEK is a file format that stores metadata for various Adobe products. PEK audio files are used by popular movie editor Premiere Pro and visual effects application After Effects.

PEK format stores information needed for proper display of audio waveform used in editing. Adobe applications that use PEK files create them automatically when needed and store the min cache memory. Deleting such file will cause the application to recreate it upon restarting.
