File with PIB extension is a type of developer file. PIB files are used by PibTool software created by APT. PibTool is a software development tool used to generate source code and save it as PIB binary files.

PIB files contain sets of named blocks. Each block has at least one attribute, each with a unique name, data type definition, and a short description. PIB files are platform-independent; PibTool supports such languages as Java, JavaBeen, or Fortran.
