POI is a binary file format that contains navigational information used by Magellan Maestro devices. POI files store point of interes data for given map.

POI files typically hold data on important places form the driver’s perspective, such as gas stations, parking lots, shops, hospitals, or hotels. POI database is updated regularly by device manufacturer, usually performed along with system updates.
