PXM file format is used by image editing application Pixelmator, a tool offering rich set of graphical tools available for MacOS. PXM file stores raster image using structure similar to Photoshop PSD. PXM is a lossless format.

PXM file hold both image and text data, and supports layers. Pixelmator allows user to export PXM files into other more popular graphic file formats.
