File with a .SH extension contains code of a script, a list of instructions written in the Bash – Bourne – Again Shell Unix language, and also other shells, such as Bourne Shell, Bash for MAC OS, C-Shell and Korn Shell.

SH files store scripts and can be executed with shell instructions. Bash substituted the original system shell – Bourne shell, and it is the reason for its name.
