SIS is an extension that was used in files that store program installation packages for the Symbian operating system. This system was installed on PDA devices and mobile phones of some companies.
From a technical point of view, a SIS file is an archive of files necessary for the operation of a given application. This format was later replaced by SISX. Currently, SIS files are not widely used and this format is considered obsolete.
