File with an .SMM extension contains notes of a Samsung Galaxy mobile phone user, both in form of handwriting and a graphic. Such file can be backed up on a PC. The notes are created on the mobile device.

The Samsung Kies software used for purpose of communication of Samsung phones with a PC enables to download SMM data from the device, and also to restore them back on the device from a copy saved on a PC. However, the application does not provide display or editing option for these files.
