STR is a database document used by dBASE database software. STR files are used for storing lists of database objects. The file structure hlds informations regarding width, number, and name of each cell.

STR list files can be used for database physical archivization purposes. Latest version of dBASE was released in 1999 and since haven’t been able to really compete with SQL-based software on/in the commercial market, making it a rather niche program.
