Files with the .VMSG are a simple text file format. The extension is unique to the VMware software – the files support the functioning of the software and contain the contents of the messages it displays to the user according to the chosen language.

Thanks to the supporting VMSG files, the VMware software, used to create many virtual instances of operating systems on one physical machine, can display messages in different languages depending on the location chosen by the user.
