VPD is an extension characteristic of the files used by the program for creating slideshows from photos called PhotoDVD. VPD files are files that are used by the program to store slide show projects created in it. The project, in addition to the photos themselves, may contain other elements that enrich the appearance of the presentation. These can include visual effects such as animations and transitions, background sound, and subtitles. Such projects are most often recorded on DVD and can be viewed using a hardware DVD player.
