Files with the VVD extension are used by Minolta's Vivid 3D 3D image scanner. VVD files are created by scanning an item from a specified number of positions and then combining such data. The file generated in this way contains a mesh of the 3D model surface composed of many polygons and vertices.

Minolta developed the Polygon Editing Tool to handle VVD files, but other programs of this type also allow you to open them.
