WOW is an extension characteristic of files used by an older tool for editing audio files called Grave Composer. WOW are files that were used to store sound modules containing 8 channels.

Grave Composer is a music composition tool used in the MS-DOS operating system. Currently, both the WOW files and the program are not seen today and are considered obsolete.
