X3G is a filename extension used by files associated with Windows program called MakerWare, a software interface for such printing and scanning devices as MakerBot Digitizer Desktop 3D Scanner and Replicator Desktop 3D Printer.

MakerBot MakerWare uses X3G files to store generated documents. X3G files contain printing instructions for 3D printers.
