File with a .3DM extension contains a 3D model consisting of information on surfaces, curves and points stored in an open format utilising both data representations in NURBS nets and polygons. On the www.Opennurbs.org website, a library supporting the 3DM format can be found.

3DM storing is native within the CAD/CAM/CAE Rhinoceros 3D software. Program currently available in the Rhino 6 version has a wide range of applications in modelling and creating 3D projects used in industry, manufacturing and also interactive animations and games.
