File with a .CFA extension contains music data from the cache memory, stored in a proprietary format by the Adobe sound edition software. Such files can be of a large volume, however, they speed up the work flow within a program substantially. They are created with the same component of the Adobe Media Encoder software – encountered as an element of Adobe After Effects – Encore or Premiere Encore.

CFA files are used in order to speed up work flow within a program while sound editing or creating a preview of a sound wave, however, if they are created for the first time – it may take a while. The cache memory functionality can be disabled, however, it will prolong the time needed for sound previewing process substantially.
