File with a .CHR extension contains a 3D model of an animated or static character, along with its parameters, such as geometry, imposed textures, lightning. CHR files are used to render characters’ models in movies, games or TV.

CHR files are created in an application used for 3D animation, modelling and rendering 3ds Max. They can be stored also in the MAX format or exported into other formats, such as DAE, DXF, FXB, IGS or STL, utilised by other applications.
