File with a .CIF extension contains an image of a CD disc, stored in format developed by Corel and utilised within the Roxio Creator software – previously Roxio Easy CD Creator. CIF files are often utilised in order to create backup copies of an optical drive.

CIF files can be mounted in Windows as physical CD drives, available via My PC menu. It enables installing content of a CD as one would possess a physical CD.
