CXML is an extension given to files used by a technology developed by Microsoft called Silverlight. It is a technique that allows multimedia content to be displayed in web browsers. It is a solution similar in concept to the Flash technique.

CXML are files used to transport server-side data. It is a plain ASCII text file with XML based code. It can be opened and edited with any text editor.
