DEP is a system file used by Microsoft Windows operating system. DEP files are utilized by various programs and services to access data about executable components for given application.

DEP files store informations such as names of target components (including folders) used during installation process. DEP format syntax is also used by other Microsoft tools, for example, Office. DEP files can be edited using PDW tool.
