DIB is a raster graphics file that stores images as bitmaps. DIB is the enhanced version of BMP format. Both formats differ in header data construction and bit depth information.
DIB file can be compressed (4 and 8 bits per pixel support) or uncompressed (1, 4, 8, and 24 bits per pixel). DIB is by no means a popular format, but is supported by many vector or raster graphics editing software.
