File with a .DSF extension contains data characteristic of 3D models – its characteristics, shape and position, shadowing, textures. DSF files are created using JSON formatting standard and can apply ZIP compression. This enables, after extracting it with any tool supporting ZIP format, to read them without any specialised software – they are stored in the text format.

DSF files were created for the 3D DAZ studio 4 modelling software, however, they are also supported by other programs. Due to formatting based on universal standards, they enable high portability and enable easy exchange of information between platforms.
