Files with the .EPS extension contain graphics, namely a vector or bitmap image, or text, encoded in the Encapsulated PostScript format, as well as its bitmap preview. They are often saved using an equivalent extension, EPSF. The EPS format is supported by vector graphics editing software and drawing software, such as Illustrator, Photoshop, and CorelDRAW. It is usually used for saving projects of logos and drawings, as well as exchanging relevant data between different platforms.

It can also be exported into other formats, such as PDF, JPG, PNG, and TIFF.
