Files with the .EXP extension contain program symbol table data, namely information about the data and functions contained in a program.

It is used in many different integrated development environments, called IDEs, as well as by compilers and debuggers. EXP files are used for link information about the functionality of a given program with another program, either directly or indirectly, for the purposes of verifying its well-functioning.
