The .GPX extension files are the GPS exchange files which are used for exchange of GPS data for the software applications. The file stores the geographical data in a variety of different formats and includes features like routes, waypoints and tracks.
The file structure is based on XML formatting as it is an extension of XML and has the ability to export and import map data.
