MBDB is a database file associated with Apple iTunes. MBDB format was introduced along with iTunes 9.2 as a means of storing file backup list created on iOS. MBDB file must be present if users attempts to restore iPhone or iPad system data and files.
By default MBDB can only be accessed using iTunes in order to manually or automatically restore backed-up files. A dedicated Windows app, iPhone Backup Browser, can also be used to browser MBDB files.
