NRW file stores image in RAW format. The format is used by the more expensive digital and reflex cameras made by Nikon. NRW high-resolution image format doesn’t use compression, therefore the files are often very large, even up to tens of MB.

NRW file stores 12-bit image data and thus the image is very detailed and offers broader color palette. In order to view NRW files on devices other than the camera, a special Windows or Mac codec must be downloaded from producer’s website.
