OGV is a file extension used for video files based on the open-source Ogg Xiph.Org media container. The format never gained much popularity, but most media players still support OGV files.

Many free and commercial codecs can decode OGV files with no problem. OGV files are typically used for embedding videos in HTML5-based websites and applications.
