File with a PLT extension contains an image stored in vector format for a plotter, a device used in linear printing. This format is based on the HPGL file format.

PLT files are stored and opened via AutoCAD software in the Standard, Premium and ViewCompanion Pro versions. They enable printing an image created with a plotter, which draws lines, unlike a regular printer which draws points.
