SND is the extension of files that store audio data. They are used by various applications. However, they can be different file formats with the same extension. SND files were already used in Amiga computers as a general audio format.

SNDs are files in which sound samples generated by AKAI hardware samplers were also saved. They could also be found in Mac OS Classic.
