ULAW is an extension characteristic of files related to PCM telecommunications systems. ULAW is a format that allows you to store audio data. It is a monophonic sound generated most often with 8-bit PCM (Pulse-Code Modulation) coding. It is a method of representing an analog signal in a digital way.
ULAW files were mainly known in North America and Japan. Currently, this format is rare and is considered obsolete.
