The .VCF files, known popularly as the vCard file are Data files that are used to store personal information or business cards. These file type allow storage of information in a well defined structure, thus making it easier for the end users to manage their contacts.

The file structure is a standard one, and thus supported by a variety of personal messaging and contact applications, most of which are based on the windows platform. These files can also be opened on the MAC os using Address book Application. This file type, being one of the standard files for contacts information is also supported by Android for storing contact data.
